FEKKAI hair styling products was founded by world renowned hair stylist Frédéric Fekkai. While having a timeless reputation of being a classic brand known for establishing trends in the salon industry, they have been looking to increase their engagement with selling more of their products online, increasing their traffic from social media, and building a platform to share their hair care tips and knowledge for keeping hair looking great.
Working under Barrel, I assisted in designing PLP pages for their different collections as well as the Blog Landing page and the flexible article template. The team worked with FEKKAI’s internal design team to set out the best user experience for while adhering to the brand's style and come up with visual solutions that will allow the pages to feel modern and clean.
Integrating shop and discover opportunities on the Blog Landing page aimed to combine discovering stories, tips, and tricks to the benefits brought by Fekkai's diverse selection of products.
By designing the website mobile first, a quick add feature on the the Product Listing page needed to be visible to interact with and apparent at all times. A direct click on any of the product modules would bring the user to the PDP page for the listed item.
For the nav dropdown, adding bits of imagery brought in another layer of visual interest that informs users on the type of hair products being featured on the page. Categorizing benefits and different kinds of hair needs was also made a priority for making products easier to find.
